ANU Semester 2 Timetable Release Delayed: To Be Same Day And Time As Subject Allocation

Written by Anushka Vineet

The one minute before subject allocation may be one of the scariest moments of your university career. With bated breath, if you are still within the AEST time zone, you wait for the clock to strike 11am to ensure that you are not stuck with the 8pm tutorial slot.

However, it is the norm for students to have prior access to the timetable to assist in planning their schedule. For most students, this assists with balancing other commitments, such as work,  or ensuring that their courses do not have clashing schedules.

For Semester 2 2026, this is not the case.

According to the ANU Timetabling Website, the delayed Final Timetable release is on Monday 13 July at 11am. The website conceded that this was “the same day MyTT [MyTimetable 2026] opens to student allocation”. Below, they also noted that subject allocations will open at the exact same time.

The website states that this delay is “due to resourcing”, with little to no other clarification.

For some students, this will be a logistical nightmare. Planning and allocating on the spot for an already competitive process raises questions about whether any accessibility concerns or student welfare were taken into consideration.

For most students, planning their timetable ensures they can plan the next 14 weeks of their lives. Without this mechanism, every student will go into the timetable race blind on 13 July.

Observer has reached out to the ANU for comment. We will provide further coverage once received.

More to come.
